ODP is a system designed to manage probe design processes. Via deployment on PC cluster, it has been demonstrated that ODP can accelerate calculation for dimmer, energy filter, hamming distance, self-complementary, etc. by at least 10 times. This is achieved by dividing up a design job into several subjobs and getting software agents (KOOPAgents) distributed on various PCs to execute the jobs. |

- Allow adding, removing of genes
- Tracking of GeneName, Accession Number, Definition, etc. for genes
|
- Design algorithms can be setup on a group of servers for execution
- Design jobs can be stopped temporarily and resumed as and when necessary
- Genes for probe design can be checked if they belong to a protein family
|
- User friendly GUI for probe selection of candidates that satisfy design criteria
- Constraints for selection include HD, CM, location, SC, Dimer and TM
- Search functionality for accession number, gene number, gene name, species, etc.
- Plate mapping interfaces to ease mapping of DNA samples on 96 wells plates
|
- Allow input of a genelist of an organism to search for similar genes from other organisms
- Uses information from NCBI databases, e.g. LocusLink that can be imported
|
- Uses a MYSQL database that contains NCBI GO data and Splicing variant data
